A property of an argument's structure: an argument is valid when its conclusion follows necessarily from its premises, regardless of whether those premises are actually true.

*Example: "All cats can fly; Whiskers is a cat; so Whiskers can fly" is valid — the logic holds even though the first premise is false.*
