The agreement between you and this site. Please read it before you use the exercises.

Acceptance of these terms
Your use of the site is your acceptance of this agreement. It takes effect the moment you access any page. It continues for as long as you keep using the site.
If you are using the site on behalf of a school, employer, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.
Who may use the site
The site is open to anyone. It is written for adults and older students, and it is not directed at children under 13.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, please use the site with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher. Nothing here requires you to create an account or submit personal details.
What the site provides
Critical Thinking Exercise publishes free interactive exercises, structured lessons, and reference pages for practising reasoning skills. No account, subscription, or payment is required for any of it. There is no paid tier waiting behind the free one.
All content is provided for educational and informational purposes. The Disclaimer sets out the limits of that in detail. The Methodology page explains how material is researched, reviewed, and corrected.
Educational purpose, not professional advice
Nothing on this site is medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. That holds even where an exercise is written for a particular audience such as nursing students or managers.
Those pages show how reasoning errors appear in a given field. They are not clinical, legal, or financial guidance. They must not replace a qualified professional when you face a real decision.
Ownership of content
The exercise questions, answer explanations, lessons, page copy, and original illustrations on this site are owned by Tajammal Maqbool. The exception is material where a different source is credited on the page.
The site name, wordmark, and visual design are also the property of the operator. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership right to you.
What you may do with the content
You are welcome to:
- read and use the exercises for your own learning;
- link to any page on the site from anywhere;
- quote short excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the original page;
- reference the site in coursework, teaching notes, or research with normal academic citation.
Reproducing exercises or lessons wholesale on another site, in a product, or in a course you sell requires written permission first. The Copyright page sets out the full policy and how to ask.
Prohibited conduct
When using the site, you agree not to:
- scrape or bulk-download the site with automated tools for republishing or resale;
- attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorised access to any system behind it;
- remove, obscure, or alter any attribution or copyright notice;
- present the material as your own work, or imply an endorsement that has not been given;
- use the site or its content to harass, defraud, or mislead anyone;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
We may restrict access where conduct of this kind is detected.
Messages and feedback you send us
If you send a correction, suggestion, or other feedback, you grant us permission to act on it and to incorporate it into the site without payment or attribution. We credit contributors where it is practical and welcome.
Please do not send confidential material, or anything you are not free to share. See the Privacy Policy for how messages are handled.
Third-party links and resources
The Resources page and various lessons link to external books, articles, courses, and podcasts that we do not control. Linking to a source is not an endorsement of everything published there. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any external site.
Availability and changes to the site
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Pages may be added, edited, moved, or withdrawn at any time. Exercises and lessons are revised as sources are rechecked, so the content you see today may be improved tomorrow.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided on an as is and as available basis. We work hard to keep content accurate, and the standard for that is described on the Methodology page. Even so, we make no warranty that the material is complete, current, or free of error, or that the site will always be available. To the extent the law allows, all implied warranties are excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. That includes lost profits, lost opportunity, and any decision you make after reading material here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify the site operator against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms. This clause does not apply to ordinary, good-faith use of the material for learning or teaching.
Disputes and governing law
These terms do not nominate a specific court or jurisdiction. If a dispute arises, the first step is to email contact@criticalthinkingexercise.org so it can be resolved directly.
Most concerns are settled that way. If your issue is a complaint about the site, or about how a message was handled, the Complaints page describes the process and the timescales you can expect.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version on this page is always the current one, and the effective date above shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
